2010: Phoenix Park Away

In a closely contested match where Halverstown's Des Drum, helped provide  3 reserves to our squad, a narrow victory was achieved. The Archivers batted first and after a very slow start, some magnificent run rate improvement and big hitting by Dave Lee (20 in 6 balls), Iain Walker (20 in 7 balls) and Geoff Nurse (20 in 11 balls) plus good striking by Joe Fallon and Robin Addis, allowed  the posting of a respectable total of 134 in the fifteen 8 ball overs on a tricky turf wicket.

Phoenix started their innings well and were 90  for 6 wickets after 11 overs. However some very tidy spells of bowling from Stuart Reay, Owen Jacob and Dave Lee at the end, limited Phoenix to 121.  Of special note too was some really impressive fielding prowess shown by Robin Addis in front of the main grandstand, in cutting of certain boundaries in the last few overs.

Man of the Match award from Phoenix/Malcolm was given to Geoff Nurse, who indicated to Dave Lee later that he deserved  it, especially for his tremendous batting and bowling plus  all round performance.
